Top 8: Student Entrepreneurs

How exactly do you want me to begin my posts? Hi guys? Welcome back? My name is Fareedah? I actually do struggle😂Anywayssssss, here’s some bonus post for FABfam! I’m really enjoying this rating/top dadada thingy so here goes….

A wise man once said, “We rise by lifting others!” (Just in case yeast doesn’t work for you.) I am being really intentional about dedicating segments of my blog to young, hardworking and innovative entrepreneurs and artisans who are carving a niche for themselves in their respective fields. I do know what it feels like to not get the appropriate platform to be seen/heard and it’ll give me so much fulfillment to occasionally showcase some really bright minds. Some being people I’ve watched closely and others I got to meet really randomly, below are six student entrepreneurs to be reckoned with:

  • TUM’S KITCHEN
Tunmise Okegbemi, the BOY behind TUM’s KITCHEN!

TUM’s KITCHEN is a catering business based in the University of Lagos and delivers to different locations on demand. Tunmise Okegbemi, my very good friend in whom I’m more than pleased, is a 200 level Law student in Unilag. He says being surrounded by women (three beautiful sisters) left him with no excuse of not being able to cook. His Chinese sauce is what really stole my heart. From local dishes to international delicacies, his culinary skills are second to none. He also offers special valentine and special occasion services (subject to demand). Tums saves students from the vicious wrath of hunger without breaking the bank.

  • NISHA CULTURE
Ayinde Aisha Morenikeji

I’m just too proud of this girl ayee!! I remember meeting her during our Post Utme days and she has now soared like an eagle. Aisha has made a name for herself in the bag-making industry. Her knapsacks and waistbags are some of her bag products. She is actually one of the pioneers of the totebag trend in Unilag. Nisha Culture is also known for fashion items ranging from clothings to accessories and footwears -mostly handmade! Tbh, Aisha can sell anything😂 I particularly love her branding and personal touch to all her deliveries!❤️

Ayuba is a brand! If you don’t know him, I’m reallllyyy ashamed on your behalf. A year 2 Law student in Unilag, Ayuba Destiny D. is an event planner, promoter, brand model, content creator and social media manager/publicist. He’s a certified ambassador for different brands: Minuel Faleti, Spraww, Gigglebox, Ivaldrolklothingz etc. Most recently, he is the convener of Gidigroove, a YouTube webcast hitting your screens soon and which I would be featured on. We really need to leave this planet for him!

Hadexta is a fashion brand owned by the ravishing Adeola Emiloye. The brand deals with everything hair. Their services include wig making, hair treatment, fixing and braiding, giving routine hair advice and treating your “crown” just right. Talk about girl power!

Gabriel Olamide promotes an affiliate business dealing in custom-made jerseys and vintage shirts.

  • OPTICAL ILLUSION MEDIA
Okedeji Omoteso

Omoteso is an Engineering student of the University of Lagos. He is also known as the illusionist. He’s a visual art photographer, cinematographer and a graphics designer.
Photography is his main jam with a strong interest in landscape, product and abstract photography. In his words, “I see my photography as a way of expressing my innermost thoughts, or to show my appreciation of a subject. If I’m not taking pictures or doing some artistic stuff you’ll catch me either relaxing or coding.”
